Overview

The mission of the Inventory Specialist is to maintain accurate inventory counts within WMS, properly manage inventory statuses to include expiring reporting, and to communicate critical inventory levels via daily and weekly reports. Operate Forklift when needed as well as perform responsibilities as the Warehouse Worker as needed.

To assist with the movement of materials, both in-bound and out-bound to the facility.  Materials are stored in warehouse area until needed on Warehouse floor.  Once items are requested in Warehouse, drivers are responsible to safely move pallets of product to designation/staging areas for Warehouse staff to ret51rieve for filling customer orders. Responsible for movement of all materials throughout the facility.

Inventory Duties 50%, Forklift Duties 25%, and Warehouse Worker 25%.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts of inventory
  • Monitor, identify and correct inventory related to production shorts and system discrepancies. Work with planning team to help resolve any issues. 
  • Participation in all Physical Inventories to include preparation, counting and performing counts, recording data, and assisting auditors with a goal of 99.9% success rate
  • Daily - analyze and prepare BOM/KIT inventories to maintain necessary inventory levels.
  • Maintain inventory statuses, lot releases, and lot holds due to expiry or quality.
  • Operate forklift or scissor lift as needed to perform job responsibilities.
  • Utilize Excel for reporting and tracking.
  • Use WMS, ERP and other systems to maintain and report inventory levels.
  • Utilize Outlook/email to communicate inventory data both internally and externally with proper business etiquette.
  • Ability to use and understand RF scanner to perform cycle counting and related tasks.
  • Receive and ship inventory.
  • Act as a Back Up Forklift Operator as needed.
  • Operates all forklift, pallet jack (manual or electric). Must be familiar and able to follow standard concepts, practices, and procedures in accordance with OSHA Safety and Forklift Regulations.
  • Able to load and unload trucks and complete internal movements by using several types of Forklift equipment daily at a weighted average greater than 12 pallets per hour.
  • Accurately moving of palletized materials for safe storage until needed by production and/or warehouse.
  • Assist the team when needed as a Warehouse Worker.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • To ensure inventory accuracy’s by performing daily/weekly/quarterly inventory counts. To ensure 99.9% inventory accuracy at Year End Audit. To communicate major discrepancies in inventory that would directly affect customer demand and company investment. Work together as a team with other departments.
  • Driver must be able to pass inter-company forklift certification in order to drive company equipment.  Driver must be able to follow all Safety guidelines at all times.  Driver must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions.  Driver must be able to move at a steady pace for long periods of time in order to maintain the high level of pallet intake and movements needed on a daily basis. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required. 6-12 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of Education and Experience. Must be able to read and write English and be able to follow written and verbal directions. Must be able to perform Physical requirement of position. Forklift experience a must.
