The primary responsibility of the Sr. Corporate Nurse will be to monitor and analyze health complaints reported to the company by clients and coaches and to make recommendations for enhancing the safety of our products and programs.
Monitor, summarize, analyze and understand health complaints reported to the company by clients and coaches. Coordinate cross-functional responses and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
Follow up with individual clients or coaches when necessary to obtain additional information and/or make general health recommendations.
Work with Clinical Affairs personnel and medical consultants to review and evaluate individual cases, as well as aggregated data, to assess for overall trends and identify areas of risk; may involve consulting medical experts and/or researching medical literature. Use information to evaluate possible courses of action and make recommendations that will enhance the safe use of products and programs. May include creating and implementing policies and training programs to enhance client safety.
Set agenda, organize, prepare meeting slides and documents, and make presentations to the medical review board at their monthly meetings. Coordinate and track follow-up from these meetings.
Review health information in all consumer-facing documents (e.g., brochures, guides, websites). Contribute to and review internal talking points related to health and safety to ensure accuracy and consistency of the content. Ensure that disseminated health information falls within the bounds of health advice and does not constitute medical advice.
Manage database of health complaints, advise on software enhancements and generate reports and analyses that will be informative for health and safety.
Monitor the medical literature for new safety information that may impact our products and programs.
Holds a BSN and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland and eligible for licensure by endorsement from various non-compact states. A Master’s Degree in a health-related field is preferred.
At least 5 years professional nursing/medical/research experience. Has worked with a variety of medical conditions, preferably including obesity and related co-morbidities, including diabetes. A background in risk management, pharmacovigilance, or clinical research a plus.
Strong computer and analytical skills. Has experience managing databases and database software, generating reports and analyzing output, and then using the information to make evidence-based recommendations.
Possesses knowledge of medical and scientific terminology. Knowledge of adverse event classification and grading a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Builds rapport with coaches and clients when interacting over the phone or in person. Possesses an empathetic and reassuring manner that projects knowledge and confidence. Must have the knowledge and poise to handle client and coach interactions effectively and efficiently.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams involving medical, scientific, business and legal functions.
Effective writing and editing skills involving both consumer-facing and technical documents.
Strong organizational and project management skills. Will see cases through to resolution and implement and manage cross-functional efforts to enhance safety of products and programs.
