  • Overview

    As a strategic partner, the HRBP aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. Acts as employee champion and change agent. Assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicates needs proactively and formulates partnerships across the HR functions to deliver value added services to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Serves as a consultant to management on Human Resources related issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Continually reviews and makes recommendations to management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures, and practices on Human Resources matters.
    • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with international, federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
    • Champions career development and recognition initiatives while resolving employee relations issues in conjunction with business leader direction. Analyzes organizational issues to their root cause while identifying trends requiring changes in policies and practices.
    • Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
    • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promotes a high level of employee morale and motivation.
    • Supports internal projects and programs, including organization-wide HR communications, engagement activities, onboarding activities, and recognition efforts.
    • Processes relevant data changes on behalf of employees and management and ensures data integrity and accuracy within HRIS system (Ultipro).
    • Supports the Performance Management process for assigned business functions (annual appraisals, compensation, and promotion recommendations).
    • Prepares and conducts safety training sessions, documenting employee participation.
    • Conducts injury and incident inquiries and evaluations and prepares recommendations for incident prevention when needed.
    • May deliver training on relevant topics as applicable.
    • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in human resources; Demonstrated employee relations experience strongly preferred. Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, and training and development.
    • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university required. Master’s degree and/or professional HR certification preferred. Additional related experience may substitute for required education.
    • Ability to travel up to 10% in-state.
    • Ability to work at ease with cross-functional teams that span multiple locations and shifts.
    • Ability to change course easily – knows when to be patient and when to push also while working in the “gray.”
    • Skilled in balancing multiple priorities.
    • Acts as a change agent in a fast paced environment.
    • Entrepreneurial and ambitious – takes initiative, and takes personal ownership and accountability.
    • Strong integrator – innately knows when to share information or to bring parties and business units together.
    • Strong HR skills and experience working with current best practices and industry trends.
    • Successful track record in building and maintaining relationships (confidence and credibility) at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong project management skills.
