    The Application Support Business Analyst role is to analyze and validate the functionality of core Medifast system applications.  The position will interface with key department stake holders, gather and compile user issues and communicate with development teams as part of the application support cycle. The Application Support Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the development process, and to ensure that project deliverables are met according to standards. The Application Support Business Analyst will be responsible for managing support requests for the Application Support Team entered into the IT Department Help Desk system – JIRA Service Desk and provide reports on the activities of the Support Team under the direction of the IT Application Support Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze and verify application requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards and appropriateness for implementation.
    • Work with IT Help Desk and Application Development staffs to quickly identify and resolve production issues. Provide follow up with business units on impacting issues.
    • Create JIRA Service Desk tickets and JIRA Defects as needed to document application issues. Perform appropriate follow up with business units and appropriate IT staff on reported issues.
    • Translate system issues into technical details for application support programmers. Provide additional support documentation in the form of screen shots, detailed SQL statements and supporting test scenarios.
    • Conduct in depth reviews with business departments for the purposes of understanding system issues.
    • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
    • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
    • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
    • Be able to perform analysis of system behavior using application interfaces and SQL
    • Support Business Departments for special events requiring technical support.

    Qualifications

    • B.A or, B.S.in Information Technology or Business related degree preferred.
    • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Support Analyst in an application support environment.
    • Familiarity with Visio or other diagraming tools.
    • Experience with Excel for use of report creation.
    • Knowledge of SQL is desired.
