The Accounts Receivable Specialist I assists our internal customers in providing superior customer service to our external customers by completing accurate refunds to customers’ credit cards who have returned product, assisting in escalated customer service issues relating to accounting, reconciling the credit card transactions that have settled against what is being invoiced in Navision, and managing the open receivables for customers.  AR specialists will also complete month end analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze returns daily day for accuracy and investigate and resolve any discrepancies. All returns must be cleared within 3 business days of release by MDC Returns department.
  • Manage/analyze chargebacks on a monthly basis and complete recourse documents by their due dates.
  • Responds to e-mail requests/inquiries within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Finalize month end close reconciliations by 1stbusiness day.
  • Complete accounting responsibilities as assigned including entering check deposits, lockbox payments, ACH deposits as needed. Understand A/R Specialist II responsibilities to serve as a back-up performer as requested.
  • Assist with monthly close analysis, manual journal entries and account reconciliations as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree (or HS diploma plus 2 years of experience in accounting or data entry)
  • 0-2 years accounting experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work as part of a team
